What is an over bonnet storage cabinet?

It is a raised cabinet that stands above the bonnet of your parked car, making use of space that would otherwise be wasted. It provides extra storage close to home while allowing you to continue using your parking space, subject to suitable clearances.

Will the cabinet fit my car park?

Fit depends on your parking bay, vehicle and overhead clearance. Send us photographs and measurements of the space, including any pipes, sprinklers or other obstructions, so we can help assess suitability.

Do I need body corporate approval?

Before ordering, ask your body corporate or building manager to confirm whether a cabinet is permitted in your parking space. Let us know what product information they need for their assessment.

How secure are the storage cabinets?

The steel cabinet is fitted with a keyed handle and comes with two keys. Its enclosed design keeps your stored belongings out of sight.

How much does an over bonnet storage cabinet cost in NZ?

The cabinet costs $2,500 plus GST ($2,875 including GST).

How much does delivery cost?

Delivery is charged separately from the cabinet price. The cost depends on the delivery area. We are based in West Auckland—contact us with your suburb or town for a delivery quote.

Can you deliver the cabinet assembled?

Yes. We can deliver the cabinet assembled to your car park or garage. Contact us with your location and access details to discuss delivery arrangements.

What can I store in the cabinet?

The cabinet provides space for everyday belongings such as storage boxes, sports equipment, camping gear and seasonal items. Check that larger items will fit inside the cabinet before ordering.

What measurements and photos should I send?

Send the available width and depth of your parking space, the height of your vehicle’s bonnet and the overhead clearance. Include photos showing your vehicle in the bay and any pipes, sprinklers or other obstructions. Please also tell us about access to the parking area.

Where is Custombilt based?

We are based in New Lynn, West Auckland, at 55C Portage Road. Contact us to discuss your parking space and delivery location.

What colours are available?

Black is available now, with grey available from November.

What warranty comes with the cabinet?

The cabinet comes with a two-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, covering the cabinet, locking mechanism and gas struts. This warranty is in addition to your rights under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act where applicable.
